I haven't done anything for them for a while, but I do think there was one piece I did that didn't run...maybe that, or maybe I'm just on as an occasional contributor. As far as I know, PA is the only state which has such a registration requirement (and even if I'm wrong, such states are few and far between). So here would be my challenge to PA lawmakers: show me a statistic--any statistic-- that demonstrates that the PA registration requirement has achieved any of its goals when compared to other states without such a requirement. If what they're saying is true, it shouldn't be hard to prove, right?Chibehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00255790557381362058noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315262155858800734.post-26138270309380016112010-03-12T23:54:57.810-05:002010-03-12T23:54:57.810-05:00Actually, Jay, that's not so. COLAs are free and every wine, beer spirit in the US is required to have one. COLAS are enough. Brand registration is just a revenue generator.charlienoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315262155858800734.post-13857117439740596912010-03-12T08:37:27.984-05:002010-03-12T08:37:27.984-05:00Ironic how they are suddenly concerned about the c...Ironic how they are suddenly concerned about the consumer and what's on a label while the "supplement" industry runs amok with any kind of outlandish or even harmful statement they want.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315262155858800734.post-72925369283468693842010-03-11T21:52:22.751-05:002010-03-11T21:52:22.751-05:00I like this passage in the Joe 6'er article a...I like this passage in the Joe 6'er article about the list:

"I asked PLCB attorney Rod Diaz several questions about the disclaimer and the registration list, including:

Q. Can you explain how the PLCB expects licensees to determine if a beer is properly registered when the web site’s disclaimer clearly warns that the online list should not be used for any legal purposes?

A. “If I were a retail licensee, I think I’d call the board first. It’s always prudent to double-check.”

How fun it would be if every bar in PA called the board to check every beer they carry. That would keep the LCB busy for a while.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315262155858800734.post-28870458375253317282010-03-11T18:32:36.963-05:002010-03-11T18:32:36.963-05:00What will be on the agenda? What will be on the agenda?Sam Komlenichttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05707612609314399024noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7315262155858800734.post-87241084966974978522010-03-11T16:39:29.383-05:002010-03-11T16:39:29.383-05:00sounds like you are out in Western Pa again hmm wo...sounds like you are out in Western Pa again hmm wonder what Lew is up to,Al Luccioninoreply@blogger.com
