Thunder Time! Perkuno lives!

Just got the word from Victory:

Perkuno's Hammer

is now

Baltic Thunder.

Release date is October 15.

Blow, winds, and crack your cheeks! rage! blow! You cataracts and hurricanoes, spout till you have drench'd our steeples, drown'd the cocks! You sulphurous and thought-executing fires, Vaunt-couriers to oak-cleaving thunderbolts, Singe my white head! And thou, all-shaking thunder, Smite flat the thick rotundity o' the world! Crack nature's moulds, and germens spill at once, That make ingrateful man!

  1. This is great news.

I have been reading about Perkuno's Hammer for years, and was really disappointed when Heavyweight went under before I got to try any. They were really an unconventional brewery.

I really liked their other beers and would usually pick up a four-pack when we visited my inlaws in Jersey from a store across the road.

    Good for Victory.

    And good for me!

  2. You know what "Baltic Thunder" is a euphemism in Canada for, right?

  3. Oh boy, that's a hell of a name. I'm a bit saddened to see no nods to hammers, heavyweights, or Toms on the front label. Oh Wait (T)hunder - (T)om, (B)altic - (B)aker.

What was that about humans trying to make patterns in everything they see? Face on Mars take that!

  4. Man, I hope Baltic Thunder ends more happily than did the play from which the quote was drawn...

I'm _very_ excited about this and hope it makes its way to IL (where "hurricanes and cataracts" laid waste to us last night, thank you very much). We get lots of Victory brews, so I'm optimistic. Thanks for the news!

  7. Excellent news! I hope it's available in NYC fairly quickly. If not, I'll definitely be making a weekend trip to PA in late October!

I sure miss this beer. Knowing Victory, they'll do it up right.

  8. Awesome! The new name's not quite as cool as the Hammer, but we'll take it. Any word on distribution plans?

Disappointed, or just slow? Check out the decorative border.
