Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh: almost there...

Just heard from HB Pittsburgh mahoff Nick Ellison: they've got their occupancy permit paperwork cleared -- finally! -- and started staff training on-site this afternoon. "The soft opening will occur at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 16, and the grand opening is still scheduled for Wednesday April 29," he told me. Wish I could join you, have fun!

    It's an old Austrian drinking song. Not about Augustiner, it's supposedly about an old Viennese street poet named Augustin.

    Won't be there on the 16th, but I've got Pens tickets for St. Patty's Day so I plan to check it out then.

    My beer that day will be golden, not green, and that's the way I like it.

    (By the way Lew, did you hear that the WV Craft Beer bill passed the House 79-18?)

    It's open. I was the first one in the door, but managed to skip the guy from the Post-Gazette with the camera by immediately slipping over to the bar.
