No explanation, but... I'm going to be trying a lot of IPAs in the next couple weeks, and posting quick tasting notes. Firsties...
Gritty's 21 -- Good, pure Gritty's (Brit hops, solid body), but...I was expecting something a bit more outbound for a 21st anniversary beer. I liked it, but I wanted to like it.
Founders Centennial IPA -- Big, solid (doesn't taste like fish), and much more bitter than the Gritty's. Surprisingly non-piney/citrus, though, given the name; maybe a little old? I keep trying this beer, hoping to find out what all the fuss is, and I've had good, great beers from Founders, but the pep others get from this one eludes me.

Get your hands on an Arcadia Hop Rocket (11th Anniversary beer)if you haven't had it. http://www.arcadiaales.com/beers/hr.html I really enjoyed that one and it's relatively new I believe.
The Founders doesn't exactly blow you away in any one category, but I like it. It's a good one to suck on over the course of a night.
Tough job huh Lew? Lately we've been sucking down more IPA's than anything. We've been hooked on Sierra Nevada Torpedo & Chico, Bells 2-Hearted & HopSlam, Weyerbacher Double Simcoe, Hops Infusion & Bottle-conditioned Double Simcoe, Russian River Pliny & Pig, Stone IPA & Vertical 8, Lagunitas Hop Stoopid, Moylan's Hopsickle and the not-quite-an-IPA-but-really-close-to-my-tastebuds Troegs Hopback & Nugget. Suddenly I can't get enough. Consider yourself IPA-Lucky!
