Lew, if you spent in any time in the North of Ireland, I'd be curious if you could detect any connections between language and culture there and areas of the U.S. strongly influenced by Scots-Irish immigration (including parts of PA as you know). So many people came to the U.S. from that area, and I have read differing accounts of their influence and lingering traits.
