Session Beer explodes: you really did hear it here first
Check out some links on the SBP blog here. "Session beer" has exploded in the past two months, and yesterday was a big day. Narragansett has a 4.2% Summer Ale coming out, The Notch continues to do well (and is expanding distribution to western Mass), and of course, Philly's quiet session beer success continues unabated. I do love it when a plan comes together.

In Western Mass, The Northampton Brewery (sister brewery of the Portsmouth Brewery and Smuttynose) has been serving Spring Fling: a super hoppy 3.6% (!!) IPA. High and Mighty has a just started releasing six-packs of their Beer of the Gods (a 4.5% kolsch-y, alt-y hybrid) and their XPA (I don't know the exact ABV, but under 5%).
Once Notch hits the area, I'm pretty sure High and Mighty and Notch will get the privilege of stocking my fridge for the summer!
I've got a session beer story hitting the web next month featuring Notch and High & Mighty. I'll be sure to link to it. Love drinking both.
Notwithstanding my problematic conclusion in yesterday's post that there is not yet a session beer trend, despite the buzz, you know that I sincerely hope you're right.
If it exploded, you probably over-primed the bottles.
My last couple of trips to Providence have found some Narragansett flying home with me (Southwest, free bags of course). Porter, bought from an airport concourse concession, was not too shabby at all.
