Uncle Jack's Best Of 2009
I'm almost embarrassed to put up this link to Uncle Jack's 'best of' list for 2009, since I come in for both harrassment and praise (which is pretty much normal for our exchanges, come to think of it), but pride and humor won out. Seriously, Jack has some good calls here, particularly the first one: Weyerbacher Zotten is a really good beer, and if Dan & Co. don't make it a full-time beer, they're nuts.

Interesting read, though much too "local" in regards to the beer awards.. not that there's anything wrong with that.
Not too local for me, yo
Jack's a Philly-centric writer. That's his gig. Not meant for the rest of the country...unless you plan on visiting America's Best Beer Drinking City (TM)...which you should!
Remaining Philly-centric, I don't know if I would agree that throwing brett at hop devil is "genius". Even though it came out in '08 on tap, if I recall, it began to distribute this year, and I thought Yakima Twilight was one of victory's better beers lately.
Yeah, Carey...I thought Jack was a bit defensive on the Wild Devil, if not pre-emptive:
There are a lot of people who really don’t get WildDevil; I often get those looks when I say it’s one of my current favorites. Let’s put it this way: they are wrong.
Okay, God-Emperor Jack!
Also, I'm a big fan of Weyerbacher's Zotten being named New Beer of the Year (though I also loved Life & Limb). Hopefully they make Zotten an all-year-'rounder.
I absolutely loved Zotten, and Wild Devil. I hope to see Zotten around again.
