Crap. Just saw on Uncle Jack's blog that Johnstown Brewing has closed; there's more here. Sounds like they had business issues when the road they're located on closed for an extended period due to rockslides. Tough thing to deal with, and I don't know what to say.
Johnstown Brewing had become a good place, a real outpost. We had some good times there, and some excellent food and beer. This is just bad news.

This borders on tragic. The place was beautiful, food was good, and the beers were better every time I went there. I had just met their new brewer at Taming of the Brew in Bloomsburg, and he was talented and enthusiastic, and had a killer pale ale with him that day. Sad.
Lew,
Have you mentioned anywhere that Hereford and Hops in Cranberry has also closed its doors?
So it goes.
Is that true about Hereford and Hop? I didn't see anything on their website... I was plotting a western PA jaunt and don't want to waste a trip (and gas).
Looks like its time for a new PA book Lew...:)
I do not believe I did note the Hereford and Hops closing; my mistake. Sorry, guys, but it's true: H&H's financial troubles in the Midwest caught up with Pennsylvania.
