I've been terribly remiss in reporting on another project that's coming to fruition this week: besides Earth Bread + Brewery opening this week, Chris Leonard and the folks at the General Lafayette Inn are opening The Tiedhouse at 2001 Hamilton St. in Philly, also on Thursday (full grand opening is October 20). Oh, the chagrin, given that I'll be in San Francisco for WhiskyFest (and much of the Philly beer community will be in Denver for a little annual soiree they do out there). Do note that this is not a brewpub, it is a bar well-supplied with GLI beers, and others.
If you haven't been following the news about Tiedhouse at Uncle Jack's blog, here's two links to get up to speed: the basic news, and the fantastic opening tap list (cheers to Jack for the coverage). I like this idea a lot, and I hope the General is not the last area brewery to see that a foothold in Philadelphia is a very good idea.
