Instead, all I could think of in connection to the calendar was cask ale, pouring from bar-stacked firkins, because today is, and has become, Friday the Firkinteenth. It's a much better tradition overall. Thanks, Scoats!

I Feel Lucky Today
Just a well-deserved tip of the hat to Scoats, the main man, the event genius, the number-crunching funster, the Coyote of Bar Promotions. Thanks to him, I got up this morning, Friday the Thirteenth, and had no ominous thoughts of bad luck or bad things happening (even after I saw the airplane tragedy in New York) because of the date.

No ominous signs, eh? I stopped at a convenience store on the way to work and my total was $6.66. Then I found out that a bottle of beer I shipped to a fellow homebrewer broke in transport. My wife and I are expecting our second child any day now, but I'm thinking he may want to stay in there until at least tomorrow.
Hey, that's what happened to me! I was almost born on Friday the 13th, but was born on Valentine's Day instead. Good luck to you and your new kid!
I was 13 on Friday the 13th. I don't recall anything happening that day except that I became a teenager, something my parents probably felt was ominous.
"almost born on Friday the 13th, but was born on Valentine's Day instead" Happy Birthday! The PLCB will stop protecting from the evils of drink and closed saloons when? (Just a roundabout way of asking when you will be 21)
Funny, Ed; I wish.
What was I thinking?
Happy birthday, Lew, from one who shares your birthday.
Happy birthday, Bill!
My youngest was born on Friday 13th. He's the crazy one.
Happy birthday, Lew!
Man -- beer lovers born on Feb. 14, how do we study the significance?
Happy belated birthday, Lew! Sadly for us (and particularly my wife), the 14th came and went without the baby arriving. In successive days he passed up Lincoln's Birthday, Friday the 13th and Valentine's Day. I was hoping he'd follow your lead, but I guess he wants to make sure he has a birthday all to himself.
