Victory re-opens tomorrow at 11:30 AM

Victory Brewing's Downingtown restaurant will re-open tomorrow, May 7, at 11:30 AM. They'll be open for lunch every day now, with a new kitchen, new menu, new bar, and new draft system that will offer 20 taps (with four beer engines: dedicated HopDevil and Storm King pumps, and two session-type beers: Workhorse Porter, Uncle Teddy's Bitter, ESB, maybe a return of Milltown Mild, I hope, I hope?).

This might be the first time I've seen a brewery project complete on the predicted, scheduled day. Congratulations to Victory...might have to head out for the opening.

A good source close to Victory is telling everybody that tomorrow the handpump line up will be HD, SK, UTB and Hop Wallop and not the Porter. I hope you are correct and it is the porter and I second the hopes for Milltown.

Oh, I've no idea which particular two session beers will be on...but Wallop ain't no session. Maybe I got that wrong. Dammit.

Lew, the cask-conditioned version of Uncle Teddy's Bitter is about as "session proof" as you can get. It was mighty fine last nite at the soft opening I attended.

Oh, Lew and everyone else planning to go, make sure you bring a growler since there are 20 different Victory beers on tap and most are draft only brews. There some new Victory brews, an old favorite or two making a return appearance and a slightly wild and wacky version of Hop Devil. Also, your growler will be filled with the new automated growler system. They should charge admission just to watch this device in action.

Look forward to seeing you again tomorrow and all others planning to attend the reopening.

Oh, yeah, I forgot to mention the counter-pressure growler filler. Truly, a new age in growler filling (to be fair; Sweetwater's been doing this for years, but I'm very happy to see Victory do it).

I've become a big Victory fan over the last 2 years. IMHO no area brewer produces better lagers. While I hadn't visited their facility for the first 10+ years, I'll be able to say that I was there for the last day of the old resturant and the first day of the new.
