On Feb. 1, Drexel Medicine is opening a medical center - the Drexel Convenient Care Center - at the site of a former cell-phone store. Negotiations are ongoing for several other spaces, including a brewpub, Pollard said.A brewpub? Anyone have something they want to tell me? Because if there's one thing America's Best Beer-Drinking City™ needs, it is more brewpubs.

A Brewpub in Center City?
Just saw this in this morning's Philadelphia Inquirer, in the Business section, in a story about shifting tenancy at the Shops At Liberty Place:

A NYC-based wine bar is being negotiated for Liberty Place, so maybe there's confusion, but hey, n othing wrong with another brewpub; Iron Hill, ya think?
I noticed as well - I hope it is a real brewpub!
I really, really hope it's not an Iron Hill. The one in Maple Shade was aw-aw-aw-aw-AWFUL. Beer and food both!
Iron Hill, awful? Really? I've been drinking Chris Lapierre's beer for years and enjoying it, I can't imagine it's gone downhill that fast...or at all.
Lisa, I know what you mean: too many people still think a bar with "a lot" of beers (as in more than 20) is a "brewpub." Not!
Come on, Iron Hill is fantastic! I've been to all of their locations except for the one in Lancaster. Consistent service, food and award winning beers.
Is this Drexel, as in Drexel University? I have a son there right now. A brewpub would be great, and an Iron Hill would be super!
No, it's just Drexel Medical opening a doc-in-a-box at Liberty Place. Sorry!
Be careful what you wish for heard on the street the gang that could not shoot straight the boys who brought you Red Bell blond ale the best tasting German Kolsch ever brewed from one of the most world beating beer factories who also bottle the mighty Lionshead..
Iron Hill has been exploring the possiblity of a center city location for a few years now, so perhaps... either way, I look forward to seeing a new one within the city limits.
For such a great beer town Philly has an appallingly low number of brewpubs within the city limits.
Chris must be from the Beer Advocate forum, where Iron Hill seems to always take an undeserved beating. Makes no sense to me... are they the best brewpub in the world? Naw... are they better than all the others in the Philly metro area (including Victory, where they've clearly figured out how to put the "suck" in "success")? Yup.
