Suck the Head

Yeah, the day after finishing Pennsylvania Breweries 4 is that kind of day. Adios, amigos!

Seriously: does anyone know where I can get more 50 ml thimble glasses like this? I want real simple ones that I can put ice cold vodka in for a zakuski party I want to do, about two dozen of them. Drop me a line; thanks!

Only band I know of with multiple songs about eating crawfish.

Lew: When is PB No. 4 coming out? I am anxiously awaiting it...

I guess it all depends on whom you choose to invite to the zakuski party.

Got the CD from you, Guy, that day Thomas and I came up and SawzAlled your blues away: thanks again!

The zakuski party needs planning at this point...I need nibblements and ideas for nibblements, and a good source of dried/smoked/pickled fish, to start with. I did get some e-mail leads on thimble glasses.

Daryl: current plan -- assuming I can keep to the editing schedule a lot better than I kept to the writing schedule! -- is for September, 2010.

as for nibblements consider these:

these are Czech but Slavic just the same. I bet you have had them before in your travels. In addition to pickeled herring or mackeral you could have
"Utopneci" little pickeled bockwurst (spekacky)
but they may be a little too "country". Or you could make a cold dressed salad like this

Lew, I want to know where that skull bottle came from (and what's in it). Looks pretty sweet.

have had those, jp, and enjoyed them: the more vinegar, the better. Some good ideas there; thanks!

The skull is Crystal Head vodka, a Canadian brand that's the creation of, believe it or not, Dan Ackroyd. It's about $50, and it's selling quite well in the current economy (it was launched in November 2008!). As the guy at the company said, the bottle sells it the first time, but it is a very good vodka inside. Fifty bucks worth? That's another question! Funny thing is, the empty bottles go for almost that much on eBay!
