Just this afternoon it hit me that I was about the only person left on the Internet who hadn't posted the Bacon Bra picture, so when I got the e-mail from Clipper City about only 40 tickets being left to their Heavy Seas Beer & Bacon Fest -- ARRRGGGHH!!! -- the synchronicity was too much to ignore.
It's for real -- the fest, not the boobs, though I guess they're real, too -- and it's September 19, noon to 4. 300 people only, $40 tickets (available here), and over fifteen kinds of bacon from around the world, used in bacon donuts, bacon salt, bacon explosions, bacon candy, bacon mac & cheese...and maybe bacon bras, who knows? Bacon rules, these days. Oh, and there will be beer, too, plenty of that big, robust Heavy Seas stuff, maybe even from the Mutiny Fleet line. Hugh Sisson is embracing his inner pyrate these days...
Pirates, Pig, and Pints. What more could you ask for?
Apparently you missed this, Lew:
Hot damn! There needs to be a west coast version of the fest. I'd be all over that (the fest...not the...right).
Classic Garrett, Sandy, thanks...and yeah, I could have had the Bacon Bra up weeks ago. Damn.
Garret was brewing a barley wine last week at the Brooklyn Brewery with bacon-smoked malt and he will blend it with a barrel aged brown ale that was fat washed with bacon .
I havent posted that pic yet. Still trying to think of a good witty angle. That should take another month or so.
Bacon ice cream is awesome!
Uh... if you were the last to post it, I guess I'm the last to see it. And I'm actually speechless. Uh... yah.
I would love to attend...I get bummed living in an area of the country devoid of such events...:(
This is the first I've seen of the "bacon bra" I am both repulsed and intoxicated by it at the same time.
That's a fairly typical reaction, Nate.
The bacon should be cooked. Otherwise it is just salmonella-contaminated grease.
I don't know how you can look at that picture and say it's "just" ...anything.
You may have been about the only person not to have posted this picture on the Internet but certainly not the only one who had not. I am sure there is no way I'd post that on my blog, just sort of ruins the whole idea of breasts or bacon for me.
All the best,
Different folks clearly have different reactions, Glenn! That's what I love about the 'Net.
I have to agree with Mikee, raw bacon just doesn't do it for me.
